Credit bureau dispute resource map

Plain-English notes, checklists, and structured reference data for disputing errors on U.S. credit reports with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This repository is meant to help you find official dispute paths and stay organized — not to replace bureau instructions or consumer protection agencies.

Educational purposes only. This is not legal advice or financial advice. Disputing does not guarantee that an item will be removed, corrected, or that your credit score will change.

Before contacting a bureau, many people find it helpful to read how disputes work under federal consumer rules:

What this repo does not do

  • Promise that a dispute will succeed or that your score will improve
  • Provide legal representation or individualized advice
  • List unverified bureau phone numbers — use official bureau pages instead
  • Replace reading your own credit report and gathering supporting records
