A synthetic portfolio of three strategic HR business partner case studies across life sciences, technology, and engineering.
The lab shows how an HRBP can move from business context to diagnosis, leadership advice, executive decisions, and implementation. Each project combines an industry-specific people challenge with structured survey design, Python-based analysis, executive dashboards, decision memos, and practical operating plans.
Builds a 12-month workforce and organization plan for a growing global R&D portfolio. The project integrates headcount demand, critical capability gaps, hiring lead time, leadership spans, organizational-health survey results, and three operating-model options into an executive decision package.
Primary capabilities: workforce planning, organizational design, business diagnosis, executive advising, scenario planning, people analytics, Python, Excel
Creates a confidential, development-focused leadership diagnostic for a technology executive in a rapidly scaling platform organization. The project combines an anonymized 360-style pulse survey, decision-rights analysis, coaching goals, operating-cadence redesign, and a measurable 90-day coaching plan.
Primary capabilities: executive coaching, leadership effectiveness, organization health, decision clarity, stakeholder alignment, survey analytics, Python, Excel
Builds a talent and change-readiness strategy for a multi-discipline engineering organization preparing for a major operating-model and technology transition. The project identifies critical-role coverage, succession depth, retention exposure, capability risk, and team-level change readiness.
Primary capabilities: talent review, succession planning, retention strategy, change leadership, capability planning, leadership accountability, Python, Excel
Strategic HRBPs often need to convert qualitative organizational experience into decision-ready evidence without reducing people to a score. Each project includes a synthetic survey instrument stored in JSON and a Python analysis workflow that:
- Calculates dimension-level results
- Preserves anonymity thresholds
- Compares teams, stakeholder groups, or business functions
- Identifies patterns requiring leadership discussion
- Produces structured outputs for the Excel dashboards
- Avoids presenting survey data as a psychological diagnosis or definitive performance rating
The surveys are illustrative business diagnostics, not validated psychometric instruments.
| Project | Industry | Leadership question |
|---|---|---|
| Workforce Strategy & Organizational Design | Life sciences | Do we have the organization, capacity, and capabilities to deliver the portfolio? |
| Leadership Effectiveness & Executive Coaching | Technology | Is leadership behavior helping the organization make decisions, scale, and deliver? |
| Talent, Succession & Change Readiness | Engineering | Do we have the talent depth and organizational readiness to sustain a major transition? |
| Professional lens | Evidence in the lab |
|---|---|
| Strategic HR Business Partner | Business diagnosis, executive coaching, organization design, talent decisions, change leadership, and leadership accountability |
| HR Business Analyst | Survey requirements, current-state and future-state design, decision rules, stakeholder mapping, and acceptance criteria |
| People Analytics / HRIS | Structured synthetic data, Python analysis, scoring logic, dashboards, data dictionaries, and reproducible outputs |
| Program Manager | Roadmaps, milestones, RACI, risks, governance cadence, implementation plans, and executive decision tracking |
- All organizations, leaders, employees, respondents, functions, ratings, roles, plans, and outcomes are synthetic.
- The projects reconstruct recurring enterprise problem patterns and do not reproduce a former employer's confidential strategy, organizational design, coaching notes, talent discussions, or employee data.
- Survey responses are synthetic and aggregated for portfolio demonstration.
- No individual-level coaching comments, performance conclusions, protected information, or employee-relations details are included.
- Survey instruments are illustrative and are not represented as validated psychometric assessments.
- Recommendations require human judgment, stakeholder dialogue, and organizational context.
