Bug Fixes

  • Added a safeguard to prevent partial data loss of starters. If triggered, players will need to clear their site data for pokerogue.net to re-download the correct save data from the server.
  • Fixed an issue potentially causing the Pokédex to grab the wrong form for certain Pokémon which may have also caused some slowdown due to printing excessive console logs.

Balance

  • Starmie now has the correct attack stat.
  • Battle Bond Greninja is now set as a Sub-Legendary to prevent it from generating too early and other effects.
  • Fixed Mega Delphox passive.

Misc

  • Event extended for 1 day due to save issues.

Art

  • Fixed back sprite for Eevee variants.

Major Update v1.12.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

General

  • Implemented all new Mega Evolutions!
    • Unrevealed abilities are currently placeholders and will be changed when officially revealed
    • All megas whose base forms had variants also have variants implemented
  • Added two new music tracks for Tall Grass and Cave by Big!
  • Implemented abilities added in ZA
  • Implemented Nihil Light
  • Implemented Rage

Memory / Performance

  • Biome-related assets are now loaded on demand instead of all at once, reducing memory usage.

Balance

  • All Champions Balance Changes (moves and abilities) have been applied.
  • National Dex movesets!
    • Pokémon can now generally learn all moves that were available to them in any main game generation
    • Many Pokémon have had their evolution levels adjusted to match evolution moves
    • TM compatibility has been updated with Gen IX, ZA, and M-A/M-B from Champions
  • Inkay now requires Topsy-Turvy to evolve (our version of the device flipping requirement)
  • Replaced Thunderbolt with Earth Power on the final boss in Inverse mode
  • Increased the boss level in Daily Runs from 70 to 75
  • Implemented general balance changes to align with Champions
  • Species balance changes based on feedback (see balance sheet for full list)
    • 122 species/forms have had their passives changed

    • Fairy Cave
      • Fennekin and Impidimp added to Rare spawn
      • Delphox and Grimmsnarl added to Boss Rare
      • Eternal Floette moved from Super Rare to Ultra Rare, and replaces Enamorous in Boss Super Rare
    • Lake
      • Battle Bond Greninja moved to Super Rare and Boss Rare
    • Meadow
      • Enamorous added to Ultra Rare and Boss Super Rare
  • Adjusted many boss fights for ZA Megas
  • Zygarde 50% and 10% with Power Construct are now allowed in Fresh Start challenges again
  • Memory Mushroom / Relearning adjustments
    • The Memory Mushroom menu now shows either an icon (Egg, TM, Mushroom) or a level number indicating the source of the move
    • Moves learned by prevolutions will now be available via memory mushroom when at the correct level. For example, Breloom is able to learn Spore via Memory Mushroom if it is at or above level 40, because Shroomish learns Spore at level 40.
      • Note that this does not apply to moves which the evolution will learn later, so the benefit of delaying evolutions to get moves earlier still exists
    • A new message will be shown when a Pokémon unlocks a prevolution's move after leveling up (for example, when Breloom reaches level 40)
  • We now can set certain species on trainers to no longer generate with the lower attacking stat moves if they have a large stat disparity, this has been applied to many species

Bug Fixes

  • Mystery Encounters with minimum party size requirements no longer count fainted or challenge-illegal Pokémon toward the minimum
  • Smart AI will no longer attempt to use moves which would fail due to weather or terrain

UI

  • Candy upgrades which are too expensive are now grayed out in the starter select menu
  • Added "mostly ineffective" and "extremely effective" messages from Champions

Miscellaneous

  • Stat stage changes now play all at once. For example, an omni-boost will display a single animation with the message "<Pokémon>'s stats rose!" instead of five separate animations and messages. This also applies to stat stage changes due to end-of-turn berries or boss bars breaking.
  • Added the luck value to the window.gameInfo object, further supporting plugin developers
  • Adjusted/Updated composer credits
  • Event Rewards
    • Events may now reward items for Rival battles 3-6 as well as the existing 1-2
    • If an event reward item is already at max stacks, it will instead award Pokeballs of the respective tier

  • Added a settings option to choose whether or not to display "Pass Baton" at the top of a Pokémon's options list
  • The V flyout now shows the move revealed by Forewarn
  • If "EXP Gains Speed" is set to "Skip", it will now jump directly to the final level instead of still animating through each one

  • Added more data to window.gameInfo, allowing plugin/extension developers more to work with

Bug Fixes

  • Background music is now correctly purged when the track is switched, resulting in massive memory usage improvements
    • We suspect that this will alleviate or eliminate the tab refreshing issues seen by iOS users. If this has been an issue for you, please try playing on 1.11.19 and let us know how it goes!
  • Biome weather will activate correctly when moving between biomes
  • Life Dew now correctly ignores Substitute
  • The Expanding Force animation now correctly plays for all affected targets instead of only one when in Psychic Terrain
  • Moves that call other moves (Nature Power, Metronome, Mimic, ...) will now be displayed with their original type in the moves menu, even if their type would be changed by the ability during battle
  • Moves that call other moves (Nature Power, Metronome, Mimic, ...) will no longer randomly "fail" seemingly at random. The moves called by them will fail instead if necessary due to something like a lack of targets
  • The splash text "It's been [#] runs..." will now display properly
  • Gravity now displays a message when grounding Pokémon
  • Court Change now switches every layer of each entry hazard properly (Spikes and Toxic Spikes)
  • Mist
    • Displays the correct message when blocking a stat stage decrease
    • Correctly ignored by Infiltrator
  • Ability Charms will now increase the chance of ME Pokémon having their HA instead of decreasing it, as intended
  • If an opposing Pokémon has Dazzling or Queenly Majesty, the user will no longer be prevented from targeting their ally
  • Baneful Bunker now correctly blocks status moves, in addition to blocking damaging moves

  • The candy count popup during egg hatching and battles will now be synced to the correct value
  • The Mini Black Hole item will no longer steal opponents' items if the holder is fainted
  • Sunny Day is now correctly generated in enemy movesets when they have a damaging fire move, rather than when they don't
  • Softlocks or immediate faints of the replacement Pokémon no longer occur when the user of a pivot move faints from contact damage during a trainer battle
  • The game no longer softlocks when a player's Pokémon is fainted by Cramorant's Gulp Missile ability
  • Prevented double-tap zooming on mobile
  • Parting Shot
    • Will correctly drop the target's stats instead of failing when there are no Pokémon to switch into
    • Will no longer force a switch if the stat-drop is blocked by abilities or if the target's stats are already at -6/-6
    • Bypasses Substitute
  • If the first hit of a multi-hit move would OHKO a boss Pokémon but the damage is reduced by the boss bar mechanic, Sturdy won't incorrectly trigger on future hit(s). (Note that the flyout will still incorrectly be shown)
