Toddler Mode v1.3.0 β€” New Chill mode

A new low-stimulation play mode for quieter sessions.

New

  • Chill mode β€” a calmer, less stimulating experience:
    • Soft mint-cream background, no rainbows or rapid color changes
    • Key presses spawn friendly fruits, vegetables, or calm animals (🍎 πŸ₯• 🐒 πŸ¦‰ 🐰 πŸ¦‹ …) that drift slowly across the screen and gently fade
    • Mouse movement produces a soft warm glow that trails behind with a slow ease
    • Clicks make a single gentle expanding ring β€” no particle bursts
    • Concurrent items are capped so the scene stays uncluttered
    • Respects your existing sound settings

Switch to Chill from the Settings window's Play Mode picker.

  2. Open it and drag Toddler Mode to Applications
  3. Launch and grant Input Monitoring if prompted

Toddler Mode v1.2.0 β€” Renamed from ToddlerLock

The app is now Toddler Mode! Same features, friendlier name.

Changes

  • Renamed display name throughout the app (window title, settings, password overlay, alerts)
  • App binary is now Toddler Mode.app and the DMG is Toddler Mode.dmg
  • Bundle ID stays com.toddlerlock.app so existing permission grants carry over if you keep the old install path
  • Includes all v1.1.0 fixes: reliable Input Monitoring detection, helpful permission alerts, live-polling permission status

Installation

  1. Download Toddler Mode.dmg below
  2. Open it and drag Toddler Mode to Applications
  3. Launch and grant Input Monitoring when prompted (click "Open Settings" from the alert)
  4. The Settings window's green checkmark will update automatically once granted
  5. Click Lock Now

Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 or later

ToddlerLock v1.1.0 β€” Permission UX fixes

Fixed

  • Reliable permission detection β€” replaced the broken CGPreflightListenEventAccess() check with a real probe-tap. Now correctly reports Input Monitoring status, even after rebuilds or re-signing.
  • Helpful permission alert β€” if Lock Now fails because permission isn't granted, you now get a clear dialog with a button to open the right Settings pane (instead of silently doing nothing).
  • Live permission status β€” the Settings window polls every second, so the green checkmark appears as soon as you grant permission in System Settings (no need to relaunch).

Notes

  • Confirmed: the 60-second debug auto-unlock is only in development builds and never ships in release.
  • Default character set is English. (If yours shows another language, that's because your previous selection was saved.)

Installation

  1. Download ToddlerLock.dmg below
  2. Open the DMG and drag ToddlerLock to Applications
  3. Launch and click "Open Settings" if prompted to grant Input Monitoring
  4. After granting, return to ToddlerLock β€” the status will turn green automatically
  5. Click "Lock Now"

Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 or later
