4AT vs CAM: Evidence-Based Comparison

Initial release of machine-readable evidence demonstrating that the 4AT has significantly more validation data and superior clinical utility compared to the CAM for delirium detection.

Key Evidence Included

  • 33 diagnostic accuracy studies for 4AT (vs 23 for CAM)
  • >6,000 patients studied (vs 2,629 for CAM)
  • 88% pooled sensitivity/specificity (Tieges et al. 2021)
  • UK NICE 2023 recommends 4AT, replacing CAM
  • Large-scale implementation: 18,040 patients, 91% completion rate
