I designed this course to give social scientists all that is necessary to start using R in their everyday work. The course is designed for academics in different career stages (from PhD students to professors) and with different backgrounds. It does not matter if they are a qualitative researcher that has never used R, or a quantitative researcher that wants to learn new topics or move out of SPSS/STATA. The course continues to receive very good reviews. Furthermore, some departments at VU have requested that I teach it to their staff, to help speed-up the department transition to fully use R.
It can be accessed here: https://github.com/SofiaG1l/R_Course
It can be cited this way: Gil-Clavel, S. (2025). R-Course: R for Social Scientists (Version 1.0). https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17184812. (Original work published 2019)

I fully prepared a 3-hours workshop that aims to give a general overview on the use of digital data for population research, and how to use application programming interfaces to download digital data from diverse social media platforms. The course has been followed by bachelor, master, and doctoral students, as well as professors from different international institutions, and it has received very good reviews.
