ABSTRACT
This Project contains the information about the following TFM´s activities :
• Yara automatic rule generation tools, refering and classify the main characteristics of each one of them.
•Selection of two of the Yara rule generation tools and exercise in the automatic creation of YARA rules in order to demonstrate and analyze their operation by comparing their performance, using samples of different malicious code & wellaware files.
•Alternative for the improvement of the generated rules for increases the effectiveness of the YARA rules regardless of the chosen YARA tool used for the generation of the rule.
• The exercise will provide the information on the classification tasks, the collection of samples, the enabling of the environments and the installation of tools, as well as the rules obtained with the results and conclusions of the different comparisons.
• Reference documentation is included.
RESUMEN
Este Proyecto contiene la información en que se basa la realización de las siguientes actividades del TFM:
• Enumerar herramientas de generación automáticas de reglas Yara, y referir y clasificar las principales características de cada una de ellas.
• Hacer una selección de dos de las herramientas de generación de reglas Yara y llevar a cabo un ejercicio de creación automática de reglas YARA con el propósito de demostrar y analizar su funcionamiento realizando una comparativa de su rendimiento, utilizando muestras de distintos ficheros de código malicioso junto con muestras lícitas de ficheros.
• Proponer alguna alternativa para la mejora de las reglas generadas, que aumente la eficacia de las reglas de YARA independientemente de la herramienta de YARA elegida utilizada para la generación de la regla.
• El ejercicio aportará la información de las tareas se clasificación, la recogida de muestras, la habilitación de los entornos e instalación de herramientas, así como las reglas obtenidas con los resultados y conclusiones de las diferentes comparativas.
• Se incluye la documentación de referencia.
