Project Name: Neighborhood CompState Crime Viewer
Project Lead: Diana Flora, DPD
Project Manager: Jessica McInchak, DoIT
Executive Sponsors: Trisha Stein, DPD; Beth Niblock, DoIT
Problem Statement
Current tools are insufficient at analyzing and visualizing crime incidents in technologically-accessible, affordable and meaningful ways for community organizations and citizens.
Metrics of Success
Increase usability of DPD incidents data by citizens and community organizations through a self-service analysis and visualization tool
Decrease internal time spent responding to or fulfilling public data requests
Increase in satisfaction from former CrimeMapping users, indicating that the tool is faster, easier, and more accurate
Project Objective:
To create a tool that will enable community organizations and citizens to understand and stay informed about crime in their neighborhood. This web-based tool will allow citizens to dynamically visualize crimes across the City and be printable for Neighborhood CompStat Meetings.
