Windows SmartScreen warning — "Windows protected your PC"

This is normal and expected

When you first download and run Bulk PDF Generator on Windows, you may see a blue screen saying "Windows protected your PC" or "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting".

This happens because the app is not commercially code-signed (code-signing certificates cost hundreds of dollars per year). It does NOT mean the app is unsafe.

How to proceed

1. Click "More info" (the small text link)
2. Click "Run anyway"

You only need to do this once. After the first run, Windows remembers your choice.

Why should I trust this app?

• The full source code is publicly available in this repository — you can read every line
• The app runs 100% offline — it never connects to the internet
• No telemetry, no analytics, no data collection of any kind
• The .exe is built automatically by GitHub Actions from the source code in this repo (you can verify this in the Actions tab)
