Hello everyone, i wanted to share planned roadmap for this project.

This discussion is open for everyone to share thoughts about future plans.

v1.2.0 — Smarter Frontier Selection — Done

• Add a smarter frontier selection algorithm. Currently the nearest frontier is beign selected. There will be two algorithms to select from optionally

v1.3.0 — Start / Stop — Done

• Add start and stop functions with extra features like timers.

v1.4.0 — Example simulation repository — Done

• Create a example repository with TurtleBot3 Waffle Pi on a generic test map

v1.5.0 — Bounded Horizon Dynamic Programming — Done

• Add Bounded Horizon DP to MRTSP

v1.6.0 → v2.0.0 — Quality & Documentation — July+

• Codebase refactoring, cleaner code
• Stability improvements
• Modularization
• Better documentation
• Benchmarks & path metrics for different preemption and frontier selection algorithms

v2.1.0 → v3.0.0 — ROS2 Compatibility — Depends on the interest from community

• Support for older ROS2 distros

v3.1.0+

• Extensive tests with different maps, lidar devices, robots. A scientific report will be beneficial for the future of the project
• Extra features for 3D LiDAR, RGBD Camera
• Native Multi Robot support. Current package could be used with multiple robots if the pipeline is properly configured. I want to add native support, bounded cache implementation, multi path planning (Related to v1.2.0).

I will revise the README.md and create a /docs folder with wiki instructions. Currently it is too long. As soon as possible in a free time.
