The controller hides automatically when the "player" fades out (I'm not sure what's the right term, you know for example you move your mouse, you see the video length, gear icon for settings etc; when you don't move your mouse and this fades out, the extension controller hides at the same time)
Toggling visiblity with the shortcut only works if the player UI? (what I described above) is visible and the shortcut doesn't change the above behavior so it just hides.
