Our Standards

✅ Examples of Behavior That Contributes to a Positive Environment

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community
  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being patient with those learning the framework
  • Providing helpful and constructive feedback on contributions
  • Respecting intellectual property and attribution requirements
  • Maintaining professional discourse in all interactions

❌ Examples of Unacceptable Behavior

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment of any form
  • Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission
  • Dismissive or condescending behavior toward contributors or users
  • Sustained disruption of discussions or collaborative work
  • Plagiarism or misattribution of work or ideas
  • Violating intellectual property rights or license terms
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, including but not limited to:

  • GitHub repository (issues, pull requests, discussions)
  • GitLab repository (issues, merge requests, comments)
  • Project documentation and wikis
  • Community forums and chat channels
  • Email communications with project maintainers
  • Social media interactions related to the project
  • In-person or virtual events related to the project

Enforcement

Reporting

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at:

What to Include in Your Report:

  • Your contact information
  • Names (real, nicknames, or pseudonyms) of any individuals involved
  • Your account of what occurred
  • If the incident is ongoing
  • Any additional context or information
  • Links to relevant content (if applicable)

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.


Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

1. Correction

Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community.

Consequence: A private, written warning from community leaders, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology [...]

2. Warning

Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a spe[...]

3. Temporary Ban

Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved,[...]

Example: Harassment of community members or persistent trolling.


4. Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement o[...]

Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.

Example: Repeated harassment, threats, or severe misconduct.

Additional Guidelines for This Project

Intellectual Property Respect

Given the proprietary nature of certain framework components, community members must:

  • Respect attribution requirements as specified in LICENSE.md
  • Not misrepresent authorship of proprietary components
  • Maintain proper citations to academic sources (Levin et al., DeepSeek AI, etc.)
  • Follow license terms for commercial vs. non-commercial use

Professional Discourse

This is a professional framework for problem-solving. We expect:

  • Evidence-based discussions when proposing changes
  • Constructive criticism focused on ideas, not individuals
  • Respectful disagreement on methodological approaches
  • Collaborative problem-solving rather than adversarial debate

Quality Standards

Contributors should:

  • Maintain high-quality standards in all submissions
  • Test contributions before submitting
  • Accept feedback gracefully and iterate based on reviews
  • Respect maintainer decisions on what aligns with project goals
