Well that certainly throws a wrench in the mix. I don't know what to machine to test on first
Any suggestions, my RP would be last, but is the most important to have the 5Gbps adapter installed. What was the error you received when trying to install on the DS223j? Could this be some sort of anamoly? I think we need way more testers before I build the confidence to jump to 7.3, maybe run it in VM just to see what the changes are exactly. Can we set up a new thread of confirmed working and not working Synology units? The title of this thread may not drawn in the people we need. Thank you to all the pioneers and brave initial testers. |

On my DS223j, I could not log in after the update and had to force an unclean shutdown. I removed the USB 2.5G dongle and had to uninstall the driver (via SSH) before I could log in again (connected the Ethernet cable to the original in-built 1Gbps port). Was this close to performing a mode 2 hard reset… |

At first I was unable to install on 7.3.1 on a DS918+ but then i did get it working after using the extra ssh command. I used the apollo lake 2.20 7.2 version |

Have you considered buying/installing Synology's 10 Gbps NIC for the DS920+? I have found that it is much more reliable and much better performance than a 2.5 or 5 Gbps USB dongle. |

I can confirm, that different USB 2.5G Adapters are working with DSM7.3x (latest release) and r8152-geminilake-2.20.1-1_7.2.spk |

I'm trying to use dirver for IoSafe 218 (not DS218) with DSM 7.3.2-86009. Getting an invalid driver message. I need to know exactly which driver I should use 5G Ethernet adapter with RTL8157. I have only occasionally used GitHub, so I would like clear step-by-step directions for how to install this driver. I have a 10G local network and to store large files on the IoSafe 218 so 1G is a bottleneck. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. |

Don't use on DS423. Completely locks up the NAS. Can't stop or uninstall through the package page, don't try, it will lock up the NAS. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall via SSH? |

For information, I updated my ds920+ to the dsm 7.3.2 without any problems regarding the USB to rj45 adapter. The driver was still functioning after the update without requiring me to do something about it (my script is working fine). |

No actually I know about the nvme volumes script. I wanted to understand what scripts related to the r8152 drivers he was using because they could be useful for me too maybe. |

MY RS1221RP+ is now being VERY aggressive about upgrading to 7.3.2-86009. Anyone else pulled the trigger with a RS unit? I know people with them are going to be slim pickings around here I feel.

Hey guys. Just adding a data point. NAS: DS920+ Notes: I was able to SUCCESSFULLY update from 7.2.2-whatver to 7.3.2-86009 via the "Update & Restore" menu (internet downlad) without disabling or removing the bb-qq driver. The update and restart were done inside of 6 minutes I'd say. No issues with my 3rd party HDDs, caching SSD or 3rd party RAM kit either. Overall, no issues to report. If you're on a DS920+ running a similar setup, upgrade with confidence. Hope this helps someone. Edit: I just updated to bb-qq driver version 2.20.1-1. I needed to do the usual install process SSH fix stuff, after which the install succeeded and all continues to be well.

You couldn't have posted this day before yesterday when I was taking the leap with my RS1221RP+? All jokes aside, I knew that if we pooled as much information as we could for you, you'd come back with a great surprise. I'd like to thank you very truly. And I keep DM'ing you for someplace to send a little piece of my appreciation, but your a kind person at heart and that it worth more than any money. Thank you for taking the time out of your day, to save us money, time, and frustration. Being in the IT field, at least for me, at a management level, I get plenty of frustration on my own. So thank you, because it is your work that helps me look at what my kids are doing while I'm working. I spent the last month in Europe on a consulting tour and you were part of my ability to open my Photos app at night and see what my kids did that day and are still doing, look at my cameras to see them run around, 6 hour time difference and all. So a huge thank you, from one proud nerd to another. |
