Coffee Pie® exists to democratize computing power and eradicate electronic waste — a mission that only works if the community building it is open, welcoming, and safe for everyone. We as members, contributors, and moderators pledge to make participation in our project and ecosystem a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We are guided by ethical and stoic principles — Meritocracy, Ataraxia, Areté, Eudaimonia — and we measure our success mainly by positive social and environmental impact, not just profits and ROI.
- Meritocracy (mereō-κράτος): Progress, power and status are determined by individual ability and effort, rather than wealth, social class, or privilege.
- Ataraxia (ἀταραξία): State of serenity, untroubled tranquility, freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety.
- Areté (ἀρετή): Justice, wisdom, virtue, courage, moderation and temperance.
- Eudaimonia (εὐδαιμονία): State of living well, realization of self full potential or inherent purpose.
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:
- Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people.
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
- Giving and gracefully accepting and embracing feedback or constructive criticism.
- Accepting responsibility, apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience.
- Focusing on what is best for the community and the mission, not just for ourselves.
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
- The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind.
- Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks.
- Public or private harassment.
- Publishing others' private information (such as a physical or email address) without their explicit permission.
- Hate or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Using the project or its infrastructure for prohibited purposes (see
README.md→ "Strictly Prohibited in the Ecosystem"), including cryptomining, malware, phishing, or military/warlike use. - Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
Project moderators (initially the Main Contributors listed in README.md) are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. They have the right to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.
This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces — this repository, the Discord server, and any official Coffee Pie® channel — and also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported privately to the moderators at conduct@coffeepie.co. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. All moderators are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.
Moderators: avolink, juanvelezmunoz32-ai, diegoalejandromendoza (the Main Contributors listed in README.md).
Moderators will follow these impact guidelines in determining consequences:
- Correction — A private, written warning, with clarity around the nature of the violation and why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
- Warning — A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved for a specified period. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
- Temporary Ban — A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period.
- Permanent Ban — A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
Any individual subject to enforcement action may appeal the decision by emailing conduct@coffeepie.co within 30 days. Appeals will be reviewed by a moderator who was not involved in the original decision. The appeal review will consider:
- Whether the enforcement action was proportional to the violation
- Any new evidence or context provided by the appellant
- The appellant's history of contributions and conduct
The appeal decision is final and will be communicated within 14 days.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct.html.
