Hi my friend @007revad it is a long time I needed you help again, I live in Greece, you ALWAYS are very helpful, here is my problem.
I have a DS1821+ DSM 7.3.2 86009 Update1,( I think you own a same model if I recall right ) with 32GB ram, I have 4 WD red HDD as SHR and 2 NVME 2TB each as Raid 1. Volume 1 is HDD and Volume 2 is NVME Drives, using your script.
In NVME drives I have installed only Container manager Package 24.0.2-1606 ( I read it is not supported yet to use your script ) and Virtual machine Manager 2.8.0-12322 , and 3 VMM's 1 Linux one Windows 11 and HAOS for Home Assistant.
The last one is most important to me it controls everything in my house. What is the problem.
I try to make a backup to my older DS416Play using Active Backup for Business ( Encryption and Compression are UNCHECKED).The initial backup it will take at least 5 days 5,4 TB of space must backed, BUT during this time all nas is very unresponsible VMM are not working Web interface is very very slow, The bottleneck is IOPS over 2000 Cpu and RAM are Very Very low lower than 30%.
So reading in the internet as a solution is to delete Volume 2 ( NVME Drives ) and install them as Read-Write Cache, this as they said it will lower IOPS and the nas will work responsible during the backups.
My question is do you agree with this solution have you try this ( NVME as cache )?
Can I move using your script VMM with Virtual machines to my HDD Volume 1?
Is there a way to move Container Manager without using you script without loosing anything? I repeat docker folder IS installed in Volume 1.( Thre were many many problems moving this folder as we had discussed in the past.
Thank you very much in advance.
