Those errors are serious. It can be caused by faulty drives or a faulty backplane. Since DSM is having the same issue with all 4 drives it is very unlikely to be 4 faulty drives. If the DS923+ is still under I'd contact Synology Support. If it's not under warranty I'd remove the cover off the NAS and check that the backplane is fully plugged into the main board. Or unplug then reconnect the backplane a few times. |

removed all drives and NVMe drives. checked back planes. there are no Error/errors regarding this drive test in dmesg or /var/log/messages. [dmesg output]: ata1 (slot 1): SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) the other empty ata slots (2,3,4) were returned as: expected since those slots are empty. tomorrow i'll install the 4 x IronWolf drives and power up and check the logs. |

i see these messages in /var/log/messages. after running synology_hdd_db had thought these wouldn't be displaying? i have 4 x Seagate ST8000VN004 IronWolf 8TB drives + 2 x M.2 SanDisk WD Black in this ds923+.
is there a course of action to fix this or can these be safely ignored?
